Brady’s win vs. Bills ties NFL mark

-

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady asserted his dominance over the Buffalo Bills again Sunday, matching an NFL record by beating them for the 26th time.

Brady went 22- for- 33 for 315 yards and threw four touchdown passes, including 53- yarders to Chris Hogan and Rob Gronkowski, to lead the visiting Patriots to a 41- 25 victory. He improved to 26- 3 in his career against the Bills and matched an NFL record set by former Green Bay Packers star Brett Favre, who went 26- 9 against the Detroit Lions.

The Patriots ( 7- 1) are 4- 0 since Brady returned from his seasonopening four- game suspension for his role in ‘‘ Deflategate.’’ His absence included the Patriots’ only blemish, a 16- 0 home loss to the Bills ( 4- 4) on Oct. 2.

Broncos 27, Chargers 19

Brady Roby returned an interception 51 yards for a touchdown, Devontae Booker and Juwan Thompson scored on short runs and the host Denver Broncos ( 6- 2) intercepted Philip Rivers three times and sacked him four times in a victory against the San Diego Chargers ( 3- 5).

The Broncos’ victory, however, was tempered by concern for 69- year- old defensive coordinator Wade Phillips, who was strapped to a backboard, carted off the field and taken to a hospital by ambulance after hitting his head on the ground when he was run over by a blocked Chargers player in the second quarter.

The Broncos said Phillips was alert and had movement in his arms and legs when he arrived at the hospital.

Raiders 30, Buccaneers 24

Derek Carr capped a brilliant performance by throwing a 41- yard touchdown pass to Seth Roberts with 1: 45 left in overtime to lift the visiting Oakland Raiders ( 6- 2) past the Tampa Bay Buccaneers ( 3- 4).

Carr completed 40 of 59 passes for a franchise- record 513 yards and four touchdowns for the Raiders, who overcame an NFL record 23 penalties for 200 yards to improve to 5- 0 on the road.

Chiefs 30, Colts 14

Nick Foles threw two touchdown passes in relief of injured Alex Smith to help the Kansas City Chiefs ( 5- 2) defeat the host Indianapolis Colts ( 3- 5).

The Chiefs lost Smith twice after hits to the head. He was checked for a concussion in the first half and cleared to return, then left again in the third quarter after the Colts’ Clayton Geathers shoved his head into the turf. This time, he didn’t return.

Saints 25, Seahawks 20

Drew Brees passed for a touchdown and scored on a keeper, and the New Orleans Saints ( 3- 4) fought off the visiting Seattle Seahawks ( 4- 2- 1).

The victory wasn’t assured until the Saints’ defense came up with a stop on the Seahawks’ final drive. Russell Wilson lofted a pass to the end zone, where Jermaine Kearse caught the ball but landed out of bounds.
