Carrigan, Marilyn Joan Tyrrell
Age 87, of Lombard, formerly of Bellwood, born and raised in Oak Park. Devoted wife, partner and friend of the late Joseph Dominic; greatest mom of Pamela Joan ( William) Dvonch, Patricia Jo ( Domenic) Conversa, and Michael Joseph ( Patricia) Carrigan; cherished grandmother “Mimi” of David ( fiancée, Jennifer Hansen), Matthew ( Maria) Conversa, Katherine ( Robert) Niemerg, and Christopher ( Caryn) Conversa; proud greatgrandmother of Aidan, Domenic, Blake, Isabella, Avery, Joseph, James, Taylor and Adrienne; aunt, cousin, and friend of many. Marilyn was preceded by parents, Frank J. and Eleanor “Lenore” Tyrrell; and siblings, Adrienne, Frank, and Irene Tyrrell Lund.
Loyal graduate of Trinity High School and Ascension Grade School. Recipient of St. Pius X Parish Woman of the Year, Trinity High School Distinguished Alumna for Service Award. For 15 years, she wrote, produced, directed and choreographed the St. Simeon Thespians Musical Reviews. Past president of Trinity High School Mothers Club and Rosary College Auxiliary. Past board member of Fenwick Mothers Club, St. Simeon Women’s Guild, Bellwood Youth Commission and Indian Lake Yacht Club. Through the years other service to church and civic communities included: Eucharistic Minister, Elizabeth Ministry, Bellwood Community Relations Council, Judge of Election, Girl Scout Leader, and cheerleading coach, just to name a few. Above all, being a wife and mother were most important to Lynn. Let it be known that our mom was the best!
Visitation Thursday, November 3, 3: 00 - 9: 00 p. m. at Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road ( 3 blocks S. of Roosevelt Road), Lombard. Funeral Friday, 10: 15 a. m. from the funeral home to St. Pius X Catholic Church, 1025 E. Madison, Lombard. Mass 11: 00 a. m. Interment Mount Carmel Cemetery.
