Brady sets record for QB victories
Tom Brady became the NFL’s all- time leader in victories by a quarterback, earning his 201st by throwing for 269 yards and a touchdown to lead the New England Patriots past the visiting Los Angeles Rams 26- 10 on Sunday.
Brady, who had tied Peyton Manning at 200 last week, guided the Patriots ( 10- 2) to their seventh victory in their last eight games. The Rams ( 4- 8), meanwhile, lost for the seventh time in their last eight games.
Brady got help from LeGarrette Blount, who scored on a 43- yard run in the first quarter; the Patriots’ defense, who intercepted rookie quarterback Jared Goff twice and sacked him four times; and Stephen Gostkowski, who kicked four field goals.
Chiefs 29, Falcons 28
Eric Berry returned an interception 37 yards for a touchdown, then brought back another interception for a go- ahead two- point conversion to lift the Kansas City Chiefs ( 9- 3) past the host Atlanta Falcons ( 7- 5).
The Falcons had gone ahead 28- 27 on a five- yard touchdown pass from Matt Ryan to Aldrick Robinson with 4: 32 left when they decided to go for two in an effort to stretch their lead to a field goal. But Berry stepped in front of Ryan’s pass and returned it 99 yards the other way to give the Chiefs the lead.
Raiders 38, Bills 24
Derek Carr threw two touchdown passes, Latavius Murray ran for two more scores and the Oakland Raiders ( 10- 2) scored the last 29 points to rally past the visiting Buffalo Bills ( 6- 6) for their sixth consecutive victory.
The Raiders trailed 24- 9 midway through the third quarter before mounting their biggest comeback since overcoming a 21- point deficit on Sept. 10, 2000, against the Indianapolis Colts.
Seahawks 40, Panthers 7
Thomas Rawls ran for two touchdowns, Tyler Lockett scored on a 75- yard reverse and the host Seattle Seahawks ( 8- 3- 1) rolled up 534 yards to embarrass the Carolina Panthers ( 4- 8).
Panthers coach Ron Rivera benched quarterback Cam Newton for the first series, reportedly because of a dress- code violation. Derek Anderson threw an interception on the Panthers’ first play, leading to the first of Steven Hauschka’s four field goals.
Steelers 24, Giants 14
Ben Roethlisberger threw two touchdown passes, and the Pittsburgh Steelers ( 7- 5) intercepted Eli Manning twice in the red zone on their way to defeating the visiting New York Giants ( 8- 4) and ending their six- game winning streak.
