Mantas, Ann “Anne”

79 of Clifton Park, beloved wife of James J. Mantas, entered into eternal life on Sunday, December 4, 2016 at her daughter’s home in Niskayuna with the family she loved so much at her side.

Born in Chicago, IL on December 31, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Peter D. and Ritsa ( Angelopoul­os) Angelos. Ann was married to James J. Mantas on September 20, 1955 and the two shared a blessed union of love and devotion for over 61 years together.

Ann was an avid athlete and after college she coached basketball, softball, volleyball and cheerleadi­ng. She was a longtime member at the Edison Club where she was the former Club champion and member of the Northeast Women’s Golf Associatio­n. As a loving and dedicated homemaker she loved her children, grandchild­ren and great grandchild­ren, they were her utmost priority and focus in her life. Ann was a longtime member of St. George’s Greek Orthodox Church in Schenectad­y.

Ann also worked side by side with her son John at Mike’s Restaurant in Schenectad­y.

Survivors in addition to her husband include her loving children, Alexandra Palmer, John ( Karen) Mantas, Pamela Mantas all of Niskayuna; her cherished grandchild­ren, Paul ( Tiara) Antonovich, Megan ( Brian) Whipple, James Mantas and John ( Chelsea) Mantas; her adored great- grandchild­ren, Harper Whipple, Tanner Whipple and Paul Antonovich; her sister, Jeannie ( Donald) Manhard and several nieces, nephews and great- nieces and great- nephews.

Ann’s funeral Mass will be held celebrated on Friday, December 9, 2016 at 10: 30 a. m. at St. George’s Greek Orthodox Church, 107 Clinton Street Ext., Schenectad­y. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Thursday, December 8, 2016 from 4: 00- 7: 00 p. m. at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh

Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham. The Trisagion service will be held Thursday evening at 6: 00 p. m.

In lieu of flowers and due to cemetery regulation­s, memorial contributi­ons can be made in Ann’s memory to the St. Georges Greek Orthodox Church, 107 Clinton St. Ext., Schenectad­y, New York 12305.

Interment will take place in Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylervi­lle.
