Police: Woman sexually assaulted by three men

A woman was sexually assaulted by three men during a robbery early Saturday in the Albany Park neighborho­od on the Northwest Side.

About 12: 10 a. m., the 26- year- old woman was walking south in the 4600 block of North Monticello when three men walked up behind her and threw her to the ground, according to Chicago Police. Two of the men held the woman down on the ground as the third man sexually assaulted her.

The suspects then took the woman’s property and ran away north toward West Lawrence, police said.

The suspects were described as black males, thought to be between 26 and 40 years old, standing 6- 0 to 6- 3, weighing between 170 and 200 pounds and wearing black hooded sweatshirt­s, police said. One man was wearing black jeans and had a tattoo by his right eye, possibly a dagger. Sun- TimesWire

Police: 1 dead, 1 critical in Auburn Gresham shooting

One man was killed and another was wounded in a shooting Sunday afternoon in the South Side Auburn Gresham neighborho­od, according to Chicago Police.

Four people were in a car in the 8200 block of South Ada at 12: 30 p. m. when shots rang out, according to Chicago Police. Two passengers in the car realized they’d been shot, and the driver stopped the car in the 8400 block of South Aberdeen, police said. A 19- year- old man was shot once in the back and a 20- year- old man was shot twice in the back.

Both victims were taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where the older man was pronounced dead, police said. The younger man was in critical condition. Jordan Owen

Woman shot in shoulder in Logan Square

A 19- year- old woman was shot Sunday afternoon in the Logan Square neighborho­od on the Northwest Side.

Shewas in a vehicle about 6 p. m. in the 3500 block of West Shakespear­e when someone on foot fired shots into the vehicle, striking her in the shoulder, according to Chicago Police. The woman was in good condition, police said. Jordan Owen

Toddler falls 2 stories

A toddler was seriously injured Sunday afternoon after falling two stories on the North Side.

About 2 p. m., the 2- yearold fell from a home in the 500 block of West Wrightwood Avenue, according to Chicago Fire Department Cmdr. Walter Schroeder. The child was taken to Lurie Children’s Hospital in serious condition, Schroeder said. Ashlee Rezin

Man stabbed in argument in West Rogers Park

A man was stabbed early Sunday in the West Rogers Park neighborho­od on the Northwest Side.

The 45- year- old suffered two stab wounds to the back about 4: 45 a. m. during an argument with another male in the 2500 block of West Jerome, according to Chicago Police. The suspect left the scene. The man was taken to Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, where his condition was stabilized, police said. Police said the incident appears to be domestic. Ashlee Rezin

9 in custody after gunshot at Arlington Heights hotel

Nine people were taken into custody Friday night after police heard a gunshot at a hotel in northwest suburban Arlington Heights.

About 9: 30 p. m., investigat­ors heard a single gunshot at a hotel in the first block of Algonquin Roads and took three suspects into custody in the parking lot, according to Arlington Heights police.

As part of the investigat­ion, six other suspects were taken into custody at a hotel in the 100 block of Algonquin Road after they failed to respond to the door or calls placed to the room, police said.

The Northern Illinois Police Alarm System was activated when the suspects refused to exit the room and it was unknown if they had additional weapons, police said.

After a perimeter around the hotel was secured and communicat­ion establishe­d, the suspects left the room and were taken into custody without incident.

Man stabbed to death

A man was stabbed to death early Sunday in the Gresham neighborho­od on the South Side, police said.

He was found about 12: 40 a. m. lying face down in an alley suffering from stab wounds to the head and neck in the 8500 block of South Peoria, according to Chicago Police.

The man, thought to be between 40 and 45 years old, was pronounced deat at Holy Cross Hospital. Ashlee Rezin
