Police make arrest after witnessing shooting
A suspect was in custody after a 32- year- old man was shot and wounded early Sunday in Wicker Park.
The victim was walking in the 1100 block of North Ashland around 5: 45 a. m. when someone in a sport- utility vehicle shot at him, grazing his head, according to the police, who said the man was taken in good condition to Stroger Hospital.
Fourteenth District police officers witnessed the shooting and pulled over the suspected shooter three blocks away, in the 800 block of North Ashland, recovering a weapon and spent shell casings, according to the police, who said charges were pending Sunday. Jordan Owen
Man found dead in pond in North Side preserve
A man was found dead in a pond Sunday morning in the West Ridge Nature Preserve on the North Side.
A passerby discovered the body facedown in the pond in the 5800 block of North Western just after 8 a. m., according to the Chicago Police Department, which said the dead man appeared to have been 20 to 30 years old. Jordan Owen
Lincoln woodman, 90, dies after crash on Dan Ryan
A 90- year- old Lincolnwood man has died of injuries suffered in a crash on the Dan Ryan Expressway on the South Side.
Huu Trac Huynh, died around 5 p. m. Saturday at Stroger Hospital, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office, which said he suffered multiple injuries in the crash on the Dan Ryan at 64th Street and ruled the death an accident.

4 injured in head- on Lake Shore Dr. crash
A child was among four people injured in a head- on crash Sunday morning on Lake Shore Drive on the South Side.
Acar going south in the northbound lanes hit another car around 7 a. m. in the 4800 block of South Lake Shore Drive, according to the Chicago Fire Department.
The child, thought to be about 10, was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital, the fire department said. Two others were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, and one person was taken to Stroger Hospital. All were described as being in serious to critical condition. Nader Issa
Man killed, another wounded in Douglas Park
One man was killed and another was wounded in a Douglas Park neighborhood shooting early Sunday on the Southwest Side.
The pair was standing outside at 2: 27 a. m. in the 1300 block of South Fairfield when another male opened fire, according to Chicago Police.
Tywan Anderson, 23, suffered gunshot wounds to the head and back and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2: 57 a. m., according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. His home address was unknown.
A 19- year- old man was shot in the left hand and also taken to Mount Sinai, where his condition was stabilized, police said. Ashlee Rezin
Man, 23, badly wounded in drive- by shooting
A 23- year- old man was badly wounded in a drive- by shooting Sunday afternoon in North Lawndale on the West Side.
He was shot in the lower back by someone in a passing car as he stood in the street in the 1400 block of South Homan just after noon, according to the police, who said a samaritan took him to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was in serious condition. Jordan Owen
