3 HR, 10 RBI for Nats’ Rendon
Anthony Rendon went 6- for- 6 with three home runs and a teamrecord 10 RBI, and the Washington Nationals used a 23- hit barrage Sunday on their way to annihilating the visiting New York-Mets 23- 5.
Rendon, who scored five runs, had a two- run single in the first inning, a solo homer in the third, a three- run homer in the fourth, a three- run double in the fifth, a single in the seventh and a solo homer in the eighth. He became the 13th player in major- league history to drive in 10 or more runs in a game and the first since Garret Anderson in 2007.
Matt Wieters added two homers and Adam Lind and Bryce Harper one each for the Nationals, who scored at least one run in every inning but the second.
Mets ace Noah Syn der ga a rd yielded five runs and five hits in the first, then left with a possible strain of his right lat in the second. He was sent back to New York for an MRI exam.
Indians 12, Mariners 4
Michael Brantley started an eight- run third inning with a single and capped it with a two- run homer, Francisco Lindor drove in three runs with a homer and a double and Roberto Perez had three hits and three RBI to power the host Cleveland Indians past the Seattle Mariners.
Reds 5, Cardinals 4
Joey Votto singled home the tie-breaking-runin the eighth inning, and Adam Duvall had three doubles and a single to help the visiting Cincinnati Reds slip past the St. Louis Cardinals for only their second victory in their last 10 games. The Reds tied the score with a three- run seventh.

Miguel Sano drove in five runs with a three- run homer and two RBI singles, and the Minnesota Twins handed the host Kansas City Royals their ninth consecutive loss. Sano drove in nine runs in the rain-abbreviated two- game series.
Marlins 10, Pirates 3
Justin Bour homered, doubled, singled twice and drove in six runs, and the Miami Marlins ended a four- game losing streak by walloping the visiting Pittsburgh Pirates. Bour’s big day lifted his average from .184 to .222.
Diamondbacks 2, Rockies 0
Daniel Descalso hit a two- run homer into the swimming pool in the 13th inning to lift the host Arizona Diamondbacks past the Colorado Rockies. The blast ended the longest scoreless game in the history of Chase Field.
