Police are warning residents after a 7- Eleven store was robbed at gunpoint Thursday night on the Near West Side.

About 11: 30 p. m., a man entered the store at 627 W. Jackson Blvd. with a semiautoma­tic handgun and demanded cash, according to Chicago Police. The man took the clerk to the back of the store and bound his hands before running away to the Clinton Blue Line Station.

The suspect was described as a 6- foot, 140- pound black man between 20 and 35 years old, police said. He had a thin mustache and wore a hat, green Under Armour jacket with a hood, blue jeans and light- gray gym shoes. He entered the store wearing blue surgical gloves.

9- year- old suffers graze wound to head on SW Side

A 9- year- old boy suffered a graze wound to the head during a shooting Saturday evening in the Marquette Park neighborho­od on the Southwest Side.

At 8: 11 p. m., the boy was grazed in the 2500 block of West 69th Street when someone fired shots at the vehicle he was traveling in, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to Holy Cross Hospital in good condition, police said.

The shooting may be related to an altercatio­n between the driver and a person who fired shots, police said.

Woman found dead in trash

A woman was found dead Saturday afternoon inside a trash container in the Belmont Cragin neighborho­od on the Northwest Side.

The 33- year- old was discovered dead in the 2100 block of North Laramie, according to Chicago Police.

A police source said any injuries the victim suffered were not immediatel­y apparent.

Detectives were conducting a death investigat­ion. The Cook County medical examiner’s office did not release her identity Saturday.

Woman found shot to death in South Chicago home

A woman was found shot to death in a South Chicago home early Saturday on the South Side, according to Chicago Police.

About 12: 20 a. m., Tina Brown, 53, was found with a gunshot wound to the head inside a home in the 8000 block of South Essex Avenue, authoritie­s said. The shooting might have stemmed from a domestic issue.

An autopsy Saturday ruled Brown’s death a homicide, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Man wins $ 400K with $ 1 ticket on NW Side

A Chicago man bought a $ 400,000- winning lottery tick- et last month at a Norwood Park neighborho­od gas station on the Northwest Side. David Klopack hit the jackpot when his $ 1 Quick Pick ticket matched all five numbers — 10- 2534- 38- 40 — in the midday drawing on Sunday, April 30, according to the Illinois Lottery.

The Citgo gas station at 5726 N. Nagle received a bonus of $ 4,000, or 1 percent of the prize amount, for selling the winning ticket.

Adams St. Bridge to close starting Monday for painting

The Adams Street Bridge over the Chicago River will be closed for daily painting work starting Monday morning in the Loop.

The bridge will be closed between 9 a. m. and 3 p. m. from Monday to Friday, according to a statement from the Chicago Department of Transporta­tion.
