White Sox prospects Yoan Moncada, Michael Kopech and Zack Collins were named to the All- Star Futures Game on July 9 in Miami.

Moncada, a second baseman at Class AAA Charlotte, will play for the World Team. Kopech, a right- hander with Class AA Birmingham, and Collins, a catcher at Class A Winston- Salem, are on the U. S. roster.

Now in its 19th year, the game showcases the top minor- league prospects.

Moncada, ranked as the No. 1 prospect in baseball, according to MLB. com and Baseball America, also was named to the International League All- Star Team. He and Kopech were acquired from the Red Sox along with three other prospects in the December trade for Chris Sale. Collins was selected by the White Sox in the first round of the 2016 draft.

Batting primarily from the leadoff spot at Charlotte, Moncada is hitting .280 with 10 homers, three triples, nine doubles, 29 RBI and 15 stolen bases in 65 games.

Kopech, ranked 11th among prospects by MLB. com, is 4- 4 with a 3.38 ERA and has 94 strikeouts in 72 innings. He was selected to start in the Southern League AllStar Game, but it was rained out.

Collins, ranked 69th, owns a .211/. 368/ 408 hitting line with 10 homers and 29 RBI.

Petricka goes back on DL

Right- hander Jake Petricka, who allowed five runs and was ejected in the sixth inning against the Yankees on Wednesday after arguing with umpire Hunter Wendelstedt, returned to the disabled list with a strained right elbow. In the inning, Petricka gave up a single, three doubles and Aaron Judge’s 27th home run.

Petricka allowed 11 earned runs in 10⅔ innings in nine appearances after returning from a strained right lat. He was on the DL from April 5 to June 8.

Righty Juan Minaya was recalled from Charlotte. He’s 1- 0 with a 6.94 ERA and 16 strikeouts in eight relief appearances covering 11‰ innings in three stints with the Sox this season.

Yankees RF hurt in MLB debut

Yankees right fielder Dustin Fowler’s major- league debut came to a gruesome end in the first inning when the 22- year- old crashed into the side wall chasing Jose Abreu’s fly ball and had to be carted off the field.

Fowler suffered an open rupture in his right patellar tendon and was scheduled to have surgery Thursday night at Rush University Medical Center.

Fowler was promoted from Class AAA Scranton/ WilkesBarre in the morning. His legs hit the low wall almost at full speed, causing him to flip over. When he tried to stand up, he went down to the ground, prompting a gasp from the crowd. He was due to lead off the second inning.

This and that

Shortstop Tim Anderson, who leads the majors with 18 errors, worked on his defense before the game with bench coach Joe McEwing and was not in the starting lineup. Anderson had two hits in his last 21 at- bats.

With left- hander Carlos Rodon returning to the rotation, left- hander David Holmberg is back in the bullpen.
