Wentz, Eagles continue to soar

-

Carson Wentz threw four touchdown passes, and the Eagles overcame losing ninetime Pro Bowl left tackle Jason Peters in a 34- 24 win over the visiting Redskins.

Wentz threw for 268 yards and ran for a careerbest 63 to lead the NFL- best Eagles ( 6- 1) to their fifth consecutive win. But the victory was costly because Peters was carted off the field with a knee injury in the third quarter.

Kirk Cousins threw for 303 yards and three touchdowns for the Redskins ( 3- 3).

Cutler outwith rib injury

Dolphins coach Adam Gase said quarterback Jay Cutler has multiple cracked ribs, making it unlikely he’ll play Thursday at Baltimore. Matt Moore is expected to start in Cutler’s place.
