PERSON IN CUSTODY AFTER GIRL, 7, SUFFERS ‘ MINOR’ STAB WOUND

A person was taken into custody when a 7- year- old girl was stabbed in the leg Saturday afternoon in the South Side Woodlawn neighborho­od.

The girl was stabbed and suffered a “minor puncture wound” to her right thigh about 2: 45 p. m. in the 6100 block of South Drexel, according to Chicago Police.

Police said the stabbing happened during a “domestic- related incident.”

The girl was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital, where her condition was stabilized, police said. A suspect in the stabbing was taken into custody, and charges were pending. Matthew Hendrickso­n

Armed robberies reported near CTA, Metra stations

Passengers getting off trains have been targeted for armed robberies, Chicago Police said.

Each time, the suspect walked up to a person getting off a train, showed a weapon and demanded property, according to Chicago Police. The robberies happened: † Between 11: 45 p. m. Dec. 25 and midnight Dec. 26 in the first block of West Harrison Street, near Metra’s La Salle Street Station and a few blocks west of the CTA’s Harrison Red Line station;

† Between 10: 30 p. m. and 11: 30 p. m. Dec. 26 in the 200 block of South State, between the Monroe and Jackson Red Line stations;

† 12: 09 a. m. Dec. 27 in the 200 block of West 47th, near the 47th Red Line station;

† About 12: 45 a. m. Dec. 28 in the 200 block of South State; and

† Between 3: 30 a. m. and 4 a. m. Dec. 28 in the 900 block of West Fullerton, near the Fullerton Red Line station.

Pellet- gun shooting at CTA’s Grand station

A man was hurt when someone shot him in the face with a pellet gun Saturday night at a CTA station on the Near North Side.

About 9 p. m., the 21- yearold was sitting on the platform of the Grand Station when a male got onto a Red Line train and then fired a shot from a pellet gun at him, Chicago Police said.

The man was struck in the face and taken to Northweste­rn Memorial Hospital for treatment, police said. The shooter stayed on the 95th/ Dan Ryan- bound train and was not in custody. Matthew Hendrickso­n

Gas station case charge

A man has been charged with robbing a gas station at gunpoint Wednesday in far west suburban Sycamore.

Michael J. Wesbrock, 38, is charged with armed robbery, Sycamore police said.

The robbery was reported at 4: 03 p. m. at the BP gas station at 1615 DeKalb Ave. in Sycamore, police said, adding that surveillan­ce images led to tips that helped identify Wesbrock.
