-

Brad Miller and Nate Orf hit solo home runs in the seventh inning to carry the Brewers to a 3- 2 victory Wednesday against the visiting Twins. The result enabled the Brewers to complete a sweep of the threegame series and sent the Twins to their sixth loss in a row.

With the score tied 1- 1, Miller homered against Jose Berrios ( 8- 7) to lead off the seventh. Two batters later, Orf homered for his first major- league hit in his eighth atbat. Teammates Jesus Aguilar and

Center fielder Keon Broxton helped preserve the Brewers’ victory by stealing a homer from Brian

Dozier with a leaping catch at the wall for the second out of the ninth. The play was magnified when Edu

ardo Escobar, the next batter, homered to pull the Twins to 3- 2.

† Eduardo Rodriguez ( 10- 3) allowed three hits in six innings, Jack

ie Bradley Jr. drove in two runs and the Red Sox blanked the host Nationals 3- 0 to finish a three- game sweep and move a season- high 30 games above .500. The Nationals held a players- only meeting after their fifth loss in a row dropped them below .500.

† Giancarlo Stanton hit a threerun home run, and the Yankees overcame an injury to rookie second baseman Gleyber Torres ( strained right hip) to defeat the visiting Braves 6- 2. After the game, the Yankees said they would put Torres on the 10- day disabled list.
