Chicago Sun-Times - - ENTERTAINMENT - GEORGIA NICOLS

MOON ALERT: We have the “all clear” to shop and do business. The moon is in Sagittarius.

IF TODAY IS YOUR BIRTHDAY: Actor C. Thomas Howell (1966) shares your birthday. You are intellectual and have a deep understanding of things. You are compassionate and caring and work to better the lives of others. You are entering a fun-loving, social year! Begin by appreciating the happiness and beauty around you. Be grateful for who you are and what you have. Count on enjoying the blessing of heightened popularity and warm friendships this year.

Aries (March 21-April 19): Your ruler Mars is lined up with fuzzy Neptune, creating confusion and discouragement. However, it will help you if you want to do selfless work by lending your efforts in a hospital or any situation where you can help people in need.

Taurus (April 20-May 20): Don’t be worried if you feel confused dealing with others, especially groups. People are not sure of their motivation, which is why they are indecisive. Nevertheless, this is a positive day to help charitable organizations and work for those who are less fortunate.

Gemini (May 21-June 20): You might feel confused about your sense of direction. You have been ambitious, but now you have second thoughts? Actually, these doubts have no basis, which is why you should ignore them. Having said that, don’t push yourself too hard.

Cancer (June 21-July 22): Don’t make a big splash persuading others to agree with your ideals about politics, religion or race. Instead, be more low-key. Even though your idealism is aroused, your energy to promote your beliefs is low.

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22): Avoid disputes about inheritances, shared property and insurance because it’s a poor day for these discussions. There’s an element of confusion, and you are not prepared to argue your case. Just take a backseat today. Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22): Don’t make a big deal about anything with a partner or close friend. Do not demand to get your way or steer things in a certain direction because they might go off the rails. (Don’t be a doormat to others, either.) Many people are slightly confused.

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22): It’s difficult to get 100 percent behind anything at work because your energy is low and your focus is diffused. What to do first? What to save for last? Who is really running things? Yes, it’s that kind of day, which means you should go slowly and take it easy.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21): Romance is confused and possibly disappointing or discouraging. (Don’t take this seriously because everyone has a hint of this today.) Likewise, relations with kids are confusing. Don’t read the riot act to anyone. Be gentle because you are not really sure what to do.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21): Resist the urge to get on your high horse and issue proclamations at home. Don’t do it. The fact is, things are confusing and you’re not really sure what you want to achieve. Therefore, be accommodating and more selfless dealing with others. Easy does it.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19): This is not the day to try to convince someone about something. It’s even a poor day to sell or make your pitch because you can’t really get behind your ideas. You are low-energy and you have a bit of self-doubt. Therefore, chill out. Keep your head down and your powder dry.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18): Avoid important money decisions because there is an element of confusion and hesitation. When this kind of haziness exists, do nothing. Poor day for financial deals. It’s also a poor day for shopping because you might go overboard and regret it.

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20): Mars is lined up with Neptune in your sign, which means your energy is a bit low. You will find doing any kind of charitable work rewarding; however, don’t start anything new. Make sure you know what you’re doing. It’s easy to kid yourself.
