Henry runs into record book in Titans’ rout

Derrick Henry had a record-tying 99-yard touchdown run as the Titans routed the Jaguars 30-9 for a second straight victory to keep them in the chase for a playoff spot.

Henry, who tied Cowboys running back Tony Dorsett’s 99-yarder on Jan. 3, 1983, for the longest touchdown run in NFL history, ran for a franchise-record 238 yards, topping the previous mark of 228 set by Chris Johnson in 2009 against the Jaguars. He also had a career-high four touchdowns, tying Lorenzo White and Hall of Fame running back Earl Campbell for most rushing touchdowns in a game in franchise history.

Henry became the first player in the NFL with four rushing TDs in a game since Jonas Gray of the Patriots in Week 11 in 2014.

QB Smith dealing with infection

Redskins quarterbac­k Alex Smith is dealing with an infection caused by complicati­ons from multiple surgeries on his broken leg. There is concern that Smith, 34, is dealing with a career-ending injury after breaking the tibia and fibula in his right leg during a Week 11 loss to the Texans. Smith remains in the hospital, where he has been since suffering the injury Nov. 18.

Foster’s ex details abuse

Reuben Foster’s ex-girlfriend told ABC’s “Good Morning America” that he slapped her and pushed her during an incident in Tampa, Florida, that led to his arrest for domestic violence. Elissa Ennis said that Foster abused her three times, most recently last month in Tampa. Foster was charged with one count of first-degree misdemeano­r domestic violence.

WR Benjamin to sign with Chiefs

Former Bills receiver Kelvin Benjamin will sign a one-year contract with the Chiefs. He caught 23 passes for 354 yards and a touchdown in 12 games for the Bills this season.
