Rams great Robertson dies in limo wreck
Six-time Pro Bowl linebacker Isiah Robertson, 69, who starred for the Rams from 1971 to 1978 and later played with the Bills, was killed Thursday night when the limousine he was driving skidded on a rain-slicked curve on a dark, rural highway about 50 miles southeast of Dallas and was hit by two other vehicles.
♦ Jets linebacker Darron Lee, the team’s secondleading tackler, has been suspended for the final four games by the NFL for violating its substance-abuse policy. Lee, 24, was having his best season since being drafted 20th overall in 2016 out of Ohio State.
♦ Alex Morgan has been named U.S. Soccer’s Player of the Year for a second time after leading the national team with 18 goals in 19 games and helping it earn a spot in the World Cup next year in France. The U.S. women’s team, ranked No. 1 in the world, went undefeated in 2018 with 19 wins and two ties. The draw for the World Cup is set for Saturday in Paris. The U.S. is the defending champion, having won in Canada in 2015.
