Man fa­tally shot dur­ing ar­gu­ment over garbage

A man was fa­tally shot Satur­day af­ter­noon dur­ing an ar­gu­ment in the South Chicago neigh­bor­hood.

At 12:30 p.m., 55-year-old An­thony J. Adams was ar­gu­ing with a man over garbage in a hall­way in the 7900 block of South Kingston Av­enue, ac­cord­ing to Chicago po­lice and the Cook County med­i­cal ex­am­iner’s of­fice.

The other man re­trieved a hand­gun from his apart­ment and shot Adams in the head, au­thor­i­ties said. He was pro­nounced dead at the scene 15 min­utes later. Po­lice said charges were pend­ing. Adams lived in the South Side Rose­land neigh­bor­hood, the med­i­cal ex­am­iner’s of­fice said.
