LOS ANGELES — Lisa Borders said she has resigned as president and CEO of Time’s Up, the gender equality initiative formed last year in response to sexual misconduct allegation­s in Hollywood. Borders said in a statement Monday that she is stepping aside “with deep regret” due to family issues. She didn’t elaborate.

Poland withdraws from summit after Israeli diplomat’s comments

JERUSALEM — Poland on Monday withdrew from a European summit in Jerusalem, derailing the meeting and embarrassi­ng its Israeli hosts, to protest claims by Israel’s acting foreign minister that Poles collaborat­ed with the Nazis and “suckled anti-Semitism with their mothers’ milk.”

New Zealand proposes tax on Google, Facebook

WELLINGTON, New Zealand — New Zealand’s government plans a new tax targeting online giants like Google and Facebook that earn plenty of money in the country but pay little tax. Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said there’s a gap that needs to be closed. She said the proposed digital services tax would tax multinatio­nal online companies at about 2 or 3 percent on the revenue they generate in New Zealand, a rate that is in line with other countries considerin­g similar taxes.

Roger Stone apologizes to judge

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump’s longtime confidant Roger Stone has apologized to the judge presiding over his criminal case for an Instagram post featuring a photo of her with what appears to be the crosshairs of a gun. Stone and his lawyers filed a notice Monday night saying Stone recognized “the photograph and comment today was improper and should not have been posted.”

Official: Deputy AG Rosenstein expected to depart in March

WASHINGTON — A Justice Department official said Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein is expected to leave his position in the middle of next month.

The official was not authorized to discuss the move by name and spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity on Monday night.

The White House is expected to name a replacemen­t for Rosenstein this week.

Rosenstein’s departure had been expected with the confirmati­on of William Barr as attorney general last week.
