Career-high 52 for ‘Greek Freak’ in loss

Giannis Antetokoun­mpo scored a career-high 52 points, but Joel Embiid had 40 points and 15 rebounds to lead the 76ers over the host Bucks 130125. Antetokoun­mpo was 15-for-26 from the field and made 19 of 21 free throws to better his previous career best by eight points.

♦ Dominic Thiem edged error-prone Roger Federer 3-6, 6-3, 7-5 to win the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, California, denying Federer a record sixth title in the desert while claiming the biggest title of his career.
