1 killed, another wounded in Lawndale

One man was killed and another wounded in a shooting Sunday in Lawndale on the West Side.

They were standing on a street about 2 a.m. in the 1900 block of South Springfield Avenue when several males approached on foot and opened fire, Chicago police said. A 25-year-old was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The other man, 27, was struck in the leg and his condition was stabilized at West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, police said.
