Blaze Pizza rolls out ‘Life Mode’ pies for keto, vegan and gluten-free eaters
Sticking to a keto diet at fast-food restaurants just got easier.
Blaze Pizza announced it is rolling out a keto crust with 6 grams of net carbohydrates, substituting flour with high-fat, low-carb ingredients like flaxseed, cheese and eggs.
“As the first national chain to unveil a keto crust, Blaze’s innovation is changing the way that guests think about and eat pizza,” executive chef Bradford Kent said in a statement. ”We’re making pizza an option, even for those on a low-carb diet.”
That’s not the only new crust on its way: Blaze Pizza also is launching a vegetablebased cauliflower crust.
Both options are gluten-free and became available Tuesday.
The popular nationwide food chain, which has 14 locations in Chicago and its suburbs, also will introduce a line of “Life Mode” pizzas.
The new collection, which will be available exclusively online and through Blaze Pizza’s mobile app, will consist of:
• Keto Pizza, with keto crust, spicy red sauce, mozzarella, ovalini mozzarella, bacon, cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, spinach.
• Protein Pizza, with keto crust, red sauce, mozzarella, Italian meatballs, smoked ham, grilled chicken, black olives, green bell peppers, oregano.
• Vegan Pizza, with original dough, red sauce, vegan cheese, spicy vegan chorizo, mushrooms, red onions, green bell peppers, basil, olive oil drizzle.
• Vegetarian Pizza, with cauliflower crust, red sauce, mozzarella, ricotta, artichokes, kalamata olives, red onions, spinach.
