Vikings’ Thielen likely to return vs. Chargers
Vikings receiver Adam Thielen is expected to return to the lineup Sunday against the Chargers, barring a setback in practice this week, a league source tells ESPN.
Thielen has missed the Vikings’ last four games because of a hamstring injury but still is tied for the team lead with six touchdown receptions.
He has 27 receptions for 391 yards in his eight games this season.
Goodell won’t rush to judgment on Pats
Commissioner Roger Goodell said Wednesday at the league meetings that the NFL will not make any judgments until the completion of an investigation into the Patriots inappropriately filming the Bengals sideline during Sunday’s game in Cleveland.
The club has acknowledged that a threeperson crew producing a web series titled “Do Your Job’’ didn’t properly inform the Browns of the filming. The Patriots said they turned over all the footage to the league after being confronted. The Patriots play at the Bengals on Sunday.
Mahomes’ bruised hand no longer an issue
Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes should be ready to go against the Broncos. Mahomes, who bruised his passing hand against the Patriots, said he took snaps from under center for the first time since his injury and reported no problems.
Edelman (knee/shoulder) sits out practice
Patriots quarterback Tom Brady might be without his top receiving target Sunday, as
Julian Edelman missed practice with knee and shoulder injuries. Edelman’s knee injury was bothering him in the fourth quarter of the loss to the Chiefs.
This and that
Cornerback Janoris Jenkins tweeted a disparaging remark in response to a critical fan while the Giants were on the practice field Wednesday. Jenkins was not practicing because of an ankle injury. He was defending his play this season while his teammates were on the field.
