CHINA REPORTS NO NEW CASES IN CITY OF WUHAN
China’s health ministry said the virus epicenter of Wuhan and its surrounding Hubei province have reported no new cases.
The ministry said Thursday that results over the past 24 hours showed 34 new cases, all detected in people arriving from abroad. Eight new deaths were reported, all in Wuhan.
Wuhan at the peak reported thousands of new cases of coronavirus infection daily, overwhelming its health care system.
China has now recorded a total of 80,928 virus cases with 3,245 deaths. Another 70,420 people have been released from hospitals, and 7,263 remain in treatment.
The virus has infected more than 200,000 people worldwide and killed over 8,700. The U.S. has reported more than 7,700 coronavirus cases and at least 138 deaths. Washington state health officials reported 11 new deaths from the new virus on Wednesday, bringing the state tally of fatalities to 65 — the highest in the country. To date, 35 of the state’s deaths were linked to the Life Care Center, a nursing home in Kirkland, Washington.

Vanessa Hudgens apologizes
Vanessa Hudgens has apologized for an Instagram video in which she downplayed the coronavirus outbreak.
“I realize my words were insensitive and not at all appropriate for the situation our country and the world are in right now,” Hudgens said in a Twitter post Tuesday. “This has been a huge wake up call about the significance my words have, now more than ever.”
In the Monday Instagram video she had said, “It’s a virus I get it, I respect it, but at the same time, even if everybody gets it, yeah, people are gonna die. It’s terrible, but inevitable?”
