MUSEUM OF SCIENCE AND INDUSTRY TO OPEN AUG. 1
The Museum of Science and Industry is set to reopen Aug. 1 after being closed for more than four months due to the coronavirus. Admission will be free for the first two weeks.
But not everything will be open to the public, including the inside of the U-505 submarine and the coal mine exhibit. Museum officials say they’re keeping those places closed to “reduce contact.” The exhibits surrounding the submarine will be open to the public.
The museum will have a daily capacity of 2,000 visitors. “High touch” areas are to be disinfected hourly, officials said.
Visitors must reserve a timed-entry ticket online at msichicago.org. For now, the museum will be open Wednesday through Sunday, officials said.
