Roethlisberger agrees to new deal with Steelers
Ben Roethlisberger is returning for an 18th season with the Steelers and is taking a pay cut to do it. The 39-year-old quarterback is taking a $5 million cut that lowers his salary this season from $19 million to $14 million, according to NFL Network. The move also lowers the team’s salary-cap hit by more than $15 million.
◆ Bears tight end Jimmy Graham wrote on Twitter that he was fine after getting in a car accident Thursday morning in Miami. Fox Sports 640-AM in Miami reported that Graham’s car rolled over but he felt good and didn’t even want to be examined by paramedics.
◆ The Lions will release cornerback Desmond Trufant at the start of the league year, which begins March 17.
