Aspinoff of the hit Starz series “Power” now is filming in Chicago. “Power Book IV: Force” centers on the popular character Tommy Egan — played by Northwest Side native Joseph Sikora — after he cuts ties with the St. Patrick family.

The series takes place in Chicago and is being filmed here, the Chicago Film Office confirmed. Video from last Wednesday, shot at Wacker and Columbus by nearby resident Aldo Valadez, showed “Power Book IV” filming a scene of gunmen surrounding a car resembling Tommy’s trademark blue Mustang.

Sikora, a Columbia College alumnus, posted an Instagram photo of himself at the Far South Side’s Altgeld Gardens and Phillip Murray Homes.

When “Power” ended after six seasons last year, the premium cable network announced four spinoffs now dubbed the “Power Universe” including “Power Book II: Ghost,” which aired its first season last fall, and “Power Book III: Raising Kanan,” expected this summer.

“Power Book V: Influence,” starring West Side native Larenz Tate, also is planned.

Last month, Starz confirmed the “Force” cast to join Sikora includes Tommy Flanagan (“Sons of Anarchy”), Lucien Cambric (“The Chi,” “Chicago P.D.”) and Anthony Fleming III (“Divergent,” “Prison Break”), a well-known actor from Chicago’s theater scene, among others.

In the “Power Universe” storyline, Egan left New York after the murder of his business partner and childhood friend James St. Patrick (Omari Hardwick) in the original show’s series finale, to later turn up in the Season 1 finale of “Power Book II: Ghost.”

Executive producers of the “Power Universe” series are creator and showrunner Courtney A. Kemp, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, and Mark Canton.
