Watson misses practice again

Texans quarterbac­k Deshaun Watson did not practice again on Monday.

Watson, who reported to camp on July 25 after requesting a trade in January, practiced for the first five days, was not on the field for the next five and then returned for all four days of the third week of practice.

Watson did not travel to Green Bay for the preseason opener, and head coach David Culley said, “Nothing has changed from last week.”

♦ Packers quarterbac­k Jordan Love will return to the practice field this week after reporting that his injured right shoulder was doing much better, but his status against the Jets remains uncertain.

Celtics give Smart 4-year, $77M extension

Celtics guard Marcus Smart agreed to a four-year, $77 million contract extension, sources told ESPN.

♦ Ayo Dosunmu led five Bulls (2-3) starters in double figures with 19 points and shot 7-for-14 in 23 minutes in a 99-74 romp against the Hornets (0-5) in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas.
