REDS END DODGERS’ WIN STREAK AT SIX
Luis Castillo struck out 10 while outpitching Walker Buehler, Kyle Farmer doubled twice and the Reds snapped the Dodgers’ sixgame winning streak with a 3-1 victory Friday night in Cincinnati.
Castillo (8-15) didn’t allow a runner past second base in 6„ shutout innings. He threw a season-high 111 pitches and gave up five hits and two walks.
Buehler (14-4) gave up three runs and six hits and two walks in six innings.

Chris Sale returned from the COVID-19 list to pitch five innings of two-hit ball, and Bobby Dalbec homered to help Boston send Baltimore to its 100th loss of the season. Hunter Renfroe had a three-run double for the Red Sox.
CARDINALS 8, PADRES 2
Dylan Carlson homered twice, including a grand slam, to help Miles Mikolas win for the first time in two years as St. Louis won its sixth in a row and extended its lead for the second wild card spot to 1½ games over San Diego.
TWINS 7, BLUE JAYS 3
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. connected for his major league-leading 46th homer, but Jorge Polanco, Josh Donaldson, and Miguel Sanó hit consecutive homers as Toronto lost to slip into the third spot in the AL wild-card race, one game behind Boston and a half-game behind the Yankees.

Corey Kluber won for the first time in nearly four months, pitching six shutout innings in his first outing against the team that helped him blossom into a star.
PHILLIES 4, METS 3
Zack Wheeler limited the damage in a short but effective outing against his old team, Brad Miller hit a tiebreaking homer and Philadelphia held off New York in a showdown between teams clinging to postseason aspirations.
