Poles makes more changes

General manager Ryan Poles continued to reorganize the Bears’ front office Thursday, promoting area scout Breck Ackley to assistant college scouting director and pro scout Chris White to assistant pro scouting director.

National scouts Francis Saint Paul and Sam Summervill­e were promoted to senior national scouts. Ashton Washington was named player personnel coordinato­r and Charles Love was named a pro scout.

Poles also hired Tom Bradway and Ryan Cavanaugh as area scouts and Ryan Weese as a scout assistant. Mike Santarelli was promoted to executive director of football technology and James Cosh was named manager of football administra­tion.

NBA PLAYOFFS Celtics roll past Heat to even series

Jayson Tatum scored 27 points, Marcus Smart had 24 points, 12 assists and nine rebounds, and the Celtics dominated the first half to roll past the host Heat 127-102 and tie the Eastern Conference finals at a game apiece. Boston used a 17-0 run late in the first quarter to take control.

Jimmy Butler had 29 points in 32 minutes for the Heat, who suffered their first home loss in these playoffs.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL SEC reprimands Saban, Fisher

Alabama coach Nick Saban apologized for his comments on Texas A&M coach Jimbo Fisher and the Aggies’ recent recruiting class, which had triggered an explosive response from Fisher earlier Thursday and ignited a simmering rivalry between two of college football’s highest-profile head coaches.

The SEC issued public reprimands to both coaches.

STANLEY CUP PLAYOFFS Lightning go up 2-0 over Panthers

Ross Colton scored with 3.8 seconds remaining, giving the Lightning a 2-1 victory and a 2-0 series lead over the Panthers in the Eastern Conference semifinals.
