Helms Put on Indefinite Leave by Sox
Wes Helms, manager of the White Sox’ Triple-A affiliate in Charlotte, has been put on indefinite leave, the Sox said Friday.
The team released no further details.
“Because it is a personnel issue, we cannot provide additional information at this time,” Sox spokesman Scott Reifert said.
Catching coordinator Julio Mosquera has taken over in Helms’ role at Charlotte.
Helms, 46, is in his fourth season in the Sox’ system and second as manager at Charlotte. He was a coach with Double-A Birmingham in 2019. He played for the Braves, Brewers, Marlins and Phillies from 1998 to 2007.
