Eagles add former Bear Morrow

- Patrick Finley, Sun-Times wires

The NFC champion Eagles agreed to sign former Bears linebacker Nicholas Morrow to a one-year deal Tuesday. Later in the day, the Browns added Matthew Adams, another former Bears linebacker.

Their returns had been unlikely since the Bears signed the Eagles’ T.J. Edwards and the Bills’ Tremaine Edmunds on the first day of free agency.

Morrow started all 17 games and made 116 tackles in his lone season with the Bears. He played middle linebacker until Roquan Smith was traded, then moved outside.

Adams played a whopping 83% of specialteams downs when he was healthy and also started three games.

An undrafted free agent out of Greenville, Morrow spent his first five seasons with the Raiders before signing a one-year, $4.5 million contract with the Bears.

Goldman back with Falcons

Defensive tackle Eddie Goldman, who retired after signing a one-year deal with the Falcons last summer, has been reinstated.

Goldman, 29, started 73 of 81 games in six seasons with the Bears and could compete for a starting job and provide help in the middle of the Falcons’ line. It is unclear why he decided to retire last July after one practice.

Former Bears general manager Ryan Pace is now a senior personnel executive with the Falcons.

This and that

The Cowboys signed running back Ronald Jones to a one-year deal. He only had 17 carries in six games for the Chiefs last season. Before that, he spent four seasons with the Bucs, including a 987-yard season in 2020, the year they won the Super Bowl.

♦ The Vikings re-signed defensive lineman Jonathan Bullard, who played in 12 games with seven starts last season. He was a third-round pick of the Bears in 2016.

♦ The Bills signed running back Damien Harris to a one-year contract.

♦ The Texans signed linebacker Cory Littleton to a one-year deal.

♦ Patriots linebacker Dont’a Hightower, who did not play last season, retired.
