B. Kubistal, PHD; Beloved daughter of the late Edward J. and Bernice M., nee Lenz, Kubistal; Dear sister of Carol A. (Robert L.) Aiken; Fond aunt of Candace N. (Ronald) EitutisPenwell; Great aunt of Amber N. (Bryson) Starks-Cobb, Lillian S. Eitutis, and the late Michael J. Eitutis. She is also survived by several cousins. She leaves many dear friends and people that she mentored. She will be dearly missed. Patricia attended St. Matthias Elementary School, Alvernia High School “55 and Loyola University ‘“59,’64,’65,’68. She was employed by the Chicago Public Schools beginning in 1959 and became a self employed Educational Consultant from 1993 to 2023, presenting major presentations and workshops. She held several university positions at the University of Illinois and Chicago City Colleges, Loyola University of Chicago, Mundelein College, Illinois Institute of Technology, DePaul University, and National Lewis University. She received numerous awards including Outstanding Illinois Educator Award Outstanding Teacher Award, Chicago Public Schools Boy Scouts of America Eagle Mentorship Award, Chicago Principals and Administrators Movers and Shakers Award, Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, Lambda State Achievement Award, Kappa Gamma Pi Faith and Service Recognition Award, and many other awards too numerous to list.
Patricia was Commissioned as a Kentucky Colonel. She was a member of many Professional and Honor Societies: life Member of National Education Association and the Illinois Education Association, Chicago Principals and Administrators Association,
American Academy of Political and Social Scientists, American Association of Psychological Type, Chicago Area Associations of Psychological Type Ella Flagg Young Club/National Council of Administrative Women, Association of Measurement in Education, Illinois Computing educators, Council for Exceptional Children. National Association of Administrators if Special Education, National Association for Learning disabilities, National Council for Children with behavioral Disorders, Illinois association of Administrators of Special Education, Illinois Association for Learning Disabilities, Illinois council for Behavior Disorders, National Association for Gifted, Chicago Area council for Behavior Disorders, Chicago Area Associations for Gifted, Chicago Area Council for Behavior Disorders, Chicago Area Council for Learning Disabilities, Kappa Gamma Pi, Pi Gamma Mu, Phi Delta Kappa , Delta Kappa Gamma, Delta Sigma Rho.
Patricia was active in many Civic and community organizations: St. Matthias Parish Council, President of the Retired Teachers Association of Chicago, President Chicago Principal’s Association Auxiliary, West Winnemac Park Neighbors to name a few.
Visitation Thursday, September 28 from 3-8 PM and Friday, September 29 from 9-9:45 AM at SmithCorcoran Funeral Home, 6150 N. Cicero Avenue, Chicago. Funeral Mass Friday, September 29 at 10:30 AM at St. Matthias Catholic Church, 2310 W Ainslie Street, Chicago. Interment St. Adalbert Cemetery.
