We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved father, John Soss. A devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle and cousin to many, he was the son of Ukrainian immigrant parents, and was born in Irvona, PA in 1924. He passed away peacefully of natural causes on December 7th , surrounded by his loving family.

A life well lived, John was a proud WWII Navy veteran, who served his country with pride. A 43 year Illinois Bell/ATT Engineer, he developed the Technical Engineerin­g Management Training used throughout Bell system.

Predecease­d by his beloved wife, Dorothy, (nee Lucy) of 72 years. John is survived by his daughter, Pat (Tom) Hamilton and son, Kevin Soss. Grandchild­ren, Tom Hamilton (Amy) and Kathleen Regan (Mike). Great grandchild­ren, Lexi and Cali Hamilton, and Maeve, Seamus, Kevin and Patricia Regan. He is also survived by his loving sisters Mary Keith and Pauline Clark.

He is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Johanna (Radesky) Soss, and his siblings, Anne Lender, Joseph, Catherine Shomo-Lovell, Charles, Peter, Alex, and Nicholas.

John enjoyed his family and many friends, a life member in the Holy Name Society, Pioneers, Oak Lawn Little League, and while a talented Basketball and Baseball player in his youth and the U.S. Navy, he was an avid Bowler, Horseshoe Player and Golfer, well into his 90’s.
