Brunswick an­nounces CEO change

Brunswick Corp. has an­nounced that Mark Sch­wabero, its chair­man and chief ex­ec­u­tive of­fi­cer, will re­tire at year’s end.

His re­tire­ment ends an 14-year run at Brunswick. Sch­wabero, 65, joined the Met­tawa-based com­pany in 2004 as pres­i­dent of Mer­cury Out­boards and has served as Brunswick’s chair­man and CEO since 2016.

David Foulkes, 57, will suc­ceed Sch­wabero as CEO and a mem­ber of the board. Foulkes joined the com­pany in 2007 and cur­rently serves as pres­i­dent of Brunswick Marine Con­sumer So­lu­tions and chief tech­nol­ogy of­fi­cer. Brunswick said Manny Fer­nan­dez, the board’s lead in­de­pen­dent di­rec­tor, will be­come nonex­ec­u­tive chair­man upon Sch­wabero’s re­tire­ment.

Brunswick also said it work­ing to com­pete the spinoff of its fit­ness equip­ment busi­ness by the end of the first quar­ter, al­low­ing it to fo­cus on its marine boat and en­gine busi­ness.
