Report: League will punish Patriots

-

The NFL will discipline the Patriots for game-day video violations in Cleveland last month, ESPN reported Saturday.

The league said in a statement that the investigation is ongoing.

“There has been no discussion of any potential discipline,” the statement said. “Any suggestion of potential discipline or a timeline on an announcement is pure speculation.”

The Patriots admitted that their production crew inappropriately filmed the field and sideline during a Dec. 8 game between the Bengals and Browns.

The crew was credentialed by the Browns to shoot for a Patriots web series called “Do Your Job,” but the Patriots didn’t inform the Bengals or the league, which they called an “unintended oversight.”

In 2007, the Patriots were punished by the league for videotaping the Jets’ defensive playcalls on the sideline during a game at Giants Stadium.
