“Snowpierce­r” (8 p.m., 9 p.m., TNT): In a new episode called “The Universe Is Indifferen­t,” Melanie (Jennifer Connelly) intensifie­s her search for Layton (Daveed Diggs) among the diverse and highly polarized passengers aboard Snowpierce­r. Meanwhile, Layton is trying to find a way to use Melanie’s secret against her, and when he presents the Third Class passengers with a choice, they must face a reckoning.

“Black Monday” (7 p.m., 7:30 p.m., 1 a.m., 2:30 a.m., Showtime): This comedy began Season 2 back in March, but was forced to go on hiatus after six of 10 episodes had aired due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which shut down post-production work on the final four episodes. Those final half hours resume tonight, as the story picks up with a new episode called “Who Are You Supposed to Be?”

“Wicked Tuna: Outer Banks” (7:30 p.m., 12:34 a.m., NATGEO): An elite fleet of seven returning bluefin tuna captains risk it all again in their search for “blue gold” as this hit series returns for Season 7 with a supersized premiere, “Clash of the Titans.” Captain Dave Carraro of the FV-Tuna.com, who has won the competitio­n in Gloucester an unpreceden­ted five times, hopes to extend his bragging rights as he makes his first trip to the Outer Banks. Joining him are fan favorite Paul Hebert and Carraro’s longtime mate Sandro Maniaci.

“Perry Mason” (8 p.m., 10:35 p.m., 1:10 a.m., HBO): Much to her mother’s (Lili Taylor) dismay, evangelica­l preacher Sister Alice (Tatiana Maslany) offers the Dodsons her church’s full moral and financial support in the new episode “Chapter Two.” While following up a routine domestic disturbanc­e, Paul Drake (Chris Chalk) gets redirected to a grisly crime scene with a confoundin­g evidence trail.

“World War II: Race to Victory” (8 p.m., 12:03 a.m., History): More than 156,000 British, American and Canadian soldiers are transporte­d across the English Channel in the largest airborne invasion ever attempted as this six-hour documentar­y series concludes with the finale “D-Day and Beyond.” Finally yielding to pleas from Stalin, Churchill agrees to open a second front in Europe, sending Allied troops to liberate Nazi-occupied France.

“I’ll Be Gone in the Dark” (9 p.m., 11:40 p.m., 2:15 a.m., HBO): Based on her book of the same title, this six-part documentar­y explores writer and blogger Michelle McNamara’s investigat­ion into a violent predator she eventually would dub the Golden State Killer. Known initially as the East Area Rapist, this serial killer terrorized California in the 1970s and ’80s, when 50 home-invasion rapes and at least a dozen murders were attributed to him. In the premiere, McNamara delves into online chat rooms and crime blogs, becoming immersed in details of the crimes.

“Penny Dreadful: City of Angels” (9 p.m., 11 p.m., 1:30 a.m., Showtime): Sad news spreads quickly through the Crimson Cat as Season 1 concludes with the finale “Day of the Dead.” Fly Rico (Sebastian Chacon) tries to calm the increasing­ly volatile crowd while Rio (Natalie Dormer) argues for the mob to seek vengeance. Elsewhere, Peter Craft, Elsa (Rory Kinnear, Dormer in another guise) and the boys are trapped in their car during a riot.
