Chicago Tribune (Sunday)

Tom Skilling’s forecast

High 57 Low 40

-

Sunday will be the fourth straight day with temperatures well below normal to begin October. Officially in Chicago, only twice have the first four days of October had high temperatures below 60 degrees – 1883 and 2003. That record could be tied Sunday. A warmup will begin Monday when the high temperature reaches the low 60s. A more significant warmup occurs Tuesday as the temperature approaches 70. Near to above normal temperatures continue from Tuesday into the weekend. Some lingering showers are possible Sunday morning before an extended dry period arrives.

The 24th named Atlantic storm for 2020, Gamma, is expected to produce heavy rainfall for several days over portions of southeastern Mexico, the Yucatan Peninsula, Central America and far western Cuba.
