It’s unanimous — Bears will top Panthers on road, improve to 5-1

-

Brad Biggs (3-2)

The Panthers have struggled stopping the run and have absolute fits trying to pressure the quarterback. If the Bears cannot put it together offensively this week, it might be a while before they get it figured out on that side of the ball. Credit to the Panthers, who are playing hard and clearly have bought in to what first-year coach Matt Rhule is preaching. But they’re outclassed for this one, at least on paper.

Colleen Kane (3-2)

Matt Nagy and Nick Foles had 10 days to regroup and figure out how to get this offense rolling, and though some of that was disrupted by COVID-19 concerns, the extra preparation time should benefit them here. Plus, if the Bears don’t fall into a big early hole again, they should be able to get David Montgomery going against a Panthers run defense that has struggled. With the motivation boost of facing Tom Brady, the defense put in a big performance against the Buccaneers. Here’s expecting them to be solid again.

Dan Wiederer (4-1)

This feels like your stereotypical back-to-earth game.

But for which team? The Bears have found a way to claw out four wins in five games. And the Panthers have won three straight without their best player — running back Christian McCaffrey. Consider this a leap of faith that, against a middle-of-the-road defense and with extra time to prepare and acclimate, Nick Foles and Matt Nagy will discover that oft-elusive offensive rhythm the Bears have been seeking.
