So many shameful lines

Back in the 1960s and ’70s, we used to look with disdain at pictures of people in the Soviet Unionwaiti­ng in long lines for food and other necessitie­s. Fastforwar­d to theUnited States today, where peoplewait for hours to vote, to get a COVID-19 test and nowto get the vaccine, and, yes, even for food and other necessitie­s.

Shame on us.
