Do homework how?

I assume the editorial “Do your homework and vote in school board races” (April 2) was meant as a humor piece. I tried to do my homework but failed. We have no local newspaper in Bolingbrook, so no reporters cover the school board here (or park board or library board, etc.).

I sometimes find a webpage or Facebook page for a particular candidate, but even Google can’t find any information on most candidates for local elections. I think all boards that have elected offices need to post on their websites the information each candidate wants posted so that voters can see who is running and what they stand for.

This should be a state law so that we the voters can do our homework!
