Walquist, Ward B.

Ward Walquist, Lake Forest, IL, died on Sunday, May 30, 2021. Life-long husband of Beverly Walquist. Loving father of Cari Walquist, Chris Walquist & Curt (Pam) Walquist, much loved grandfather of Nicholas, Anniina, Alexa, Evelyn & Noelle Walquist & honorary grandfather of Sarah Hruska & Lizzie Zavitz. Born Oct. 18, 1943, Ward, grew up in Chicago and attended college at U of I–Champaign/Urbana & graduated from U of WI-Whitewater. He married Beverly (nee Miller) in 1964. He built a successful business in the industrial supply industry & was a respected business executive. Ward enjoyed spending time with Beverly & family. He enjoyed watching the Chicago Bears, for which his father played, but he LOVED playing golf. Throughout his life he maintained a quiet reserve but once opened there was clear & obvious evidence of a positive attitude, honor, integrity & a strong sense of family. These attributes along with his dry wit & sarcastic sense of humor endeared him to many. He will be remembered as a devoted husband & father & a loyal friend. He & Beverly were truly soulmates. His daughter, sons & grandchildren were his greatest source of joy; his spirit lives on through them. The family would like to thank the caring aides who helped Ward in his last days; especially, Teresita, Juan, Ricardo & Carol. Interment/ memorial Private.
