Book recommendations from the Biblioracle

- John Warner tells you what to read based on the last five books you’ve read.

1. “War Lord” by Bernard Cornwell

2. “The Guest List” by Lucy Foley

3. “The Last Thing He Told Me” by Laura Dave

4. “The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue” by

V.E. Schwab

5. “Surviving Savannah” by Patti Callahan — Judy M., Frankfort

I’m going to give Judy a real value recommendation, hoping that she hasn’t read Ken Follett’s “Kingsbridge” trilogy because if not she’s looking at almost 3,000 pages of absorbing reading. The first volume is “Pillars of the Earth.”

1. “The Underground Railroad” by Colson

Whitehead

2.“Valentine” Elizabeth Wetmore

3. “The Four Winds” by Kristin Hannah

4. “Shelter” by Jayne Anne Phillips

5. “Three Women” by Lisa Taddeo

— Susan B., Medinah

Some heavy stuff in this list, so I’m going with a book within that vein and hope that Susan hasn’t had enough drama at this point, “We Are All Completely Beside Ourselves” by Karen Joy Fowler.

1. “Midnight at Bright Ideas Bookstore” by Matthew Sullivan

2. “The Library Book” by Susan Orlean

3. “Midnight Library” by Matt Haig

4. “Library Lion” by Michelle Knudsen

5. “The Paris Library” by Janet Skeslien Charles

— Jim K., Inverness

Midnight and library (or both) seems to be a theme here, which makes me think that I should recommend “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil,” or something, but I’m going to break the pattern and go with Tana French’s “The Searcher,” a satisfying mystery/drama that any reader can immerse themselves in.
