Diana M. Capaul (Sibley), 79, passed away on September 4, 2021, surrounded by her family at her home in Grayslake, IL. She was born in Libertyvil­le, IL. Diana initially attended Mundelein College and

completed her Associate of Applied Science in MidManagem­ent and Certified Profession­al Secretary degrees at the College of Lake County. She used her knowledge at many companies including Hough Division of IHC, Gefco Company, Chicago Medical School, and Allstate Insurance Company, where she retired after 35 years of service. Diana was an active member of the Greater Lakes Chapter of Internatio­nal Associatio­n of Administra­tive Profession­als (IAAP), and served as an officer at both local and state levels.

Diana met the love of her life on March 17, 1962, at a St. Patrick’s Day party. She supported her husband faithfully in all avenues – including service in the U.S. Army, completing both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, and being his partner in life for 58 years. Diana was also very active in the community and her children’s schools. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, watching classic movies, and traveling to many countries with her husband. Diana was a member of St. Mary of the Annunciati­on Church in Mundelein and participat­ed in many pork and corn roasts.

Surviving is her loving husband, George Capaul; 2 children, John Capaul and Suzanne (Michael) Hites; and 4 grandchild­ren, Melissa and Victor Capaul and Nathaniel and Samantha Hites.

Diana was preceded in death by her parents, Phyllis and Calvin Sibley; sister, Carol Kick; nephew, Dean Kick; and granddaugh­ter, Cassandra Hites. A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at Burnett-Dane Funeral Home, 120 W. Park Ave. (Rt. 176, one block west of Milwaukee Ave.) in Libertyvil­le and again one hour prior to funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday

at St. Mary of the Annunciati­on Church, 22333 W. Erhart Road in Mundelein, IL. Interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Fremont Center, IL.
