There are a bounty of podcasts available, which might make it hard to choose one to try. We came up with a short list of some that might appeal.

Let’s Talk to Lucy (Apple Podcasts)

She never knew it, but Lucille Ball, it turns out, was one of America’s first podcasters. She launched her CBS radio show “Let’s Talk to Lucy” in 1964. Those original episodes, including interviews with such glamorous stars as Mitzi Gaynor, Gypsy Rose Lee, and Jane Powell, are now available on this podcast.

Stuff You Missed in History Class (Apple Podcasts)

This podcast delves into strange and intriguing stories from history. Some recent episodes cover such varied topics as a fanciful history of unicorns and a 1926 outbreak of diphtheria in Nome, Alaska. The community didn’t have the medicines to fight the illness so a daring sled-dog relay was mounted to deliver the medicine to the town’s only doctor.

Aging in Full Bloom (Apple Podcasts)

This podcast covers all forms of wellness related to aging. A recent guest was Patti Davis, President Ronald Reagan’s daughter, who offered caregiving advice. Another episode focused on the “Why Newspapers Matter in a Small Town,” and featured an interview with a 24-year-old who purchased a more than 200-year-old newspaper in Harrison County, Ohio.
