See Julianne Dempsey Largay notice. Pavlovich, John ‘Pavy’

-

John “Pavy” Pavlovich, born April 13, 1938 - August 19, 2022, will be greatly missed by many. He was a great family man, friend, and neighbor. He was a loving brother to his late sister MaryAnn, and he was a loving husband to his late beloved wife Shirley (nee Sordyl). John grew up in Lake Forest, Illinois. As a teenager on his family’s farm, he would bale hay and ride horses and tend to the other animals. He loved animals, especially the dogs he had throughout his life. John also helped with his mother’s floral business. He would help her pick the flowers and deliver them with her. Also, as a young boy, he would watch his father, who was an architect, draw plans in his home, and later followed in his footsteps by designing homes for others. John had the greatest disposition, and he would always see the glass as half full. He was a very kind-hearted, caring man. He was selfless, and he always put others first. John had many quality attributes, and he loved life. John was a Patriot who served his country admirably.

He served in the Illinois National Guard and later in the U.S. Army. While in the army, he helped in the building of bridges overseas. John had many talents and abilities, but what he loved most was architecture and stock car racing. When John was younger, he would race alongside many celebrity drivers, such as Roy Martinelli and Erik Johnson, and he would spend a lot of his time rebuilding the vehicles they’d race. Stock car racing was his passion. Not one day would go by without him talking about his racing days. When John wasn’t racing, he was designing and building homes for families and friends throughout the Chicagoland area. If you had a question regarding architecture, John was the goto guy. Everyone respected his broad knowledge of architecture and always asked for his opinion. John studied architecture at the University of Illinois in Champaign, Urbana. While there, John played football for the university. When John wasn’t watching

the stock car races, he’d be watching football. John loved his Chicago Bears, and he never missed a game. He loved the game of football, and he loved talking about football with his family and friends. When John was in the room with you, the world was right. He was funny and authentic. John was the real deal. This world lost a great guy. May he rest in peace. We love you, John, and we miss you.
