Xinos, Constantine P.

-

Constantine “Connie” P. Xinos, age 82, is now at peace.

Connie was born in Chicago and graduated from Lake Forest College and John Marshall Law School.

He was a career criminal defense attorney, first in the Cook County Public Defender’s Office and then in private practice. As a lawyer, Connie represented all who needed his help without regard to their means. He had a brilliant mind, was a superb trial lawyer, and had a formidable presence in the courtroom. Colleagues often said they would hire him if they were on the wrong side of the law.

Connie was a fierce patriot who loved his country and proudly served in the United States Marine Corps.

Additionally, Connie and his wife Sue, lived in Briarwood Lakes where he tirelessly served as its President for 38 years, taking enormous pride in its orderly operation and meticulous grounds. Connie loved spending time with his family, particularly summer days at his parent’s home on Hickory Lane where he helped create everlasting memories for generations.

He was tough, principled, and persistent. To those who knew him well, he was exceedingly generous and compassionate. His dear friend, Louis Rymarcsuk, who was like a son to him, said, “You either loved him or you did not know him.”

His kind heart and quick wit will be missed by all who knew him.

Connie was the beloved husband for 50 years of Suzanne “Sue” nee Kohut; devoted son of the late Marika and Peter Xinos; dear brother of Catherine (Nick) Magas, affectionate son-in-law of Pearl and Walter Kohut, fond brother-in-law of Paul (Valery) Kohut and the late Charles (Kathy) Kohut; cherished uncle of Alyssa (Frank) Petropoulos, Evan (Alicia)

Magas, Peter (Katie) Magas, Jamie (David) Shafiee, Michelle Kohut (Matt Cyr), Joshua (Shivani) Kohut, Andrea Kohut, and Julia Kohut-Dohr; proud and adored great-uncle of many; and honorary uncle to Erika Soller.
