Schlosser, Valerie A.

Valerie A. Schlosser, 66, passed away on Monday, February 5, 2024, at her home in Lincolnshire, IL. She was born on December 15, 1957, in Murphysboro, IL to Gary J. & Lois June (nee Graff) Ashman and was a 1975 graduate of Murphysboro Township High School & a 1981 graduate of Southern IL University. Valerie married Michael J. Schlosser of Belleville on June 4, 1983, and received her master’s degree in Audiology from the University of Mississippi in 1985, working as an audiologist before becoming a full-time mother. She enjoyed genealogy, travel, photography, history, theology, English literature, and British period dramas. Valerie especially loved spending vacations at the family lake house in the Northwoods of Wisconsin. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Libertyville, and a member of the Northshore Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution. Surviving is her husband, Michael J. Schlosser; 3 daughters, Laura (Ahmed) Schlosser, Sarah Schlosser & Julia Schlosser; 2 grandchildren, Dina & Dahlia; mother, June Ashman; sister-in-law, Jackie (Randy) Schlosser and many cousins, nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Gary J. Ashman.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 15, 2024, at St. John Lutheran Church, 501 W. Park Ave. in Libertyville, IL. Interment will follow to Lakeside Cemetery.
