Robert Anthony Fife, age 90, of Naperville, Illinois, passed away on February 15, 2024. He was born on March 14, 1933, in Cleveland, Ohio. Robert, a beloved husband, father, grandfathe­r, and great-grandfathe­r, will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his devoted wife Kathleen Fife, children Robert J. Fife (Joanne), Jennifer Fife-Adams (Stephen), Andrew J. Fife, Daniel M. Fife, as well as his grandchild­ren Robert (Nicolette) & Emily Fife, Esme & Harper Fife-Adams, Alexandria Fife Winslow, Malachy, Isadora & Leo Fife, and great-grandchild­ren RJ & Madeline Fife. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Delia Fife, and siblings Janet O’Malley, James Fife, and Julie Mosier.

Robert proudly served in the US Marine Corps from 1952 to 1955, during the Korean War, where he excelled as a tank commander. After his military service, he pursued a career as a high school teacher for six years before transition­ing to sales roles at Prentice Hall Publishing and the small motor industry. In retirement, he found joy as a school picture photograph­er and driving a school bus for special needs children.

An active member of his community, Robert dedicated his time to volunteeri­ng at church and Boy Scouts of America, where he served as a troop leader. He was known for his love of sports, dogs, and his passion for solving crossword and tabletop puzzles. His family fondly remembers him as a storytelle­r, a great hugger, and a pillar of support. A wake and memorial service will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 1500 Brookdale Rd., Naperville, IL on March 15, 2024, starting at 9:30 am. In lieu of flowers, contributi­ons can be made to the Boy Scouts of America or Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) in Robert’s honor.

Robert will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for his family. May he rest in peace.
