Death Notices Newcomb, Glory Ferrara

On March 26, 2024, Glory Ferrara Newcomb answered the call to join her heavenly father. She certainly completed her purpose here on earth, benefiting all her family and many friends who loved and cherished her presence in their lives. She set a standard for them all with her brave fight and determinat­ion during a long and difficult illness. Glory leaves behind her husband of 46 years, Donald Newcomb, as well as her two most cherished possession­s, her son, Brian Christophe­r Newcomb and daughter, Bretton Elizabeth Newcomb. She also will be remembered by her adoring sister, Noel Ferrara and many loving nieces and nephews who shared so many loving and joyful moments with her. Her wonderful, joyful and outgoing personalit­y created so many cherished moments that all her family and friends can treasure for the rest of their lives. Glory earned a business degree at the University of Dayton and followed that by completing her MBA requiremen­ts from DePaul University. She later worked as a marketing research analyst in Indianapol­is, IN for Walker Research. Next, she took a long break in her career to accomplish the most important mission in her life, raising her two children with her husband. Later, she returned to work as a part-time elementary school teacher. She was a voracious reader, particular­ly enjoying all kinds of mystery novels as well as history and biographie­s. She also enjoyed reading cookbooks and experiment­ing with new recipes in her kitchen. But, most of all, she enjoyed just sharing good company with her many friends and family. Glory was preceded in death by her loving mother and father Lucille and Sam Ferrara. She will also be greeted by her brother, John Ferrara, and her Uncle Sam and Aunt Pauline. Glory’s, life will be remembered and celebrated with a period of visitation beginning at 8:30 am and going until 10:00 am at ,44S. Mill St., Naperville, IL 60540. Followed with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am, on Friday, April 12, 2024, at Saint Raphael Catholic Church, Naperville, Illinois. Glory was a supporter of The American Diabetes Associatio­n and admired the efforts of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. We know she would appreciate any support you could offer them in their work.
