A country divided

Chicago Tribune - - PERSPECTIVE -

I have no idea where the Mueller investigation is headed, or what evidence investigators may or may not have with regard to the president. But I am certain of one thing: It is tearing this country apart, eating us alive from the inside out like a carnivorous political virus, and no one seems to notice or care.

Special counsel Robert Mueller needs to wrap up his investigation as to the criminal guilt or innocence of the president specifically. Every day this investigation continues only drags our country further and further toward a place we may not be able to recover from. — Tony LaMantia, Chicago
