Sweet & Smoky Rub

This rub is delicious on its own, but it can also add a base layer of flavor over chicken that will later be grilled or served with a barbecue sauce. Use hot smoked paprika if you want to add another element in the form of spicy heat.

Yield: about 1⁄4 cup

INGREDIENTS

• 2 tablespoons light brown sugar

• 1 tablespoon smoked paprika

• 2 teaspoons garlic powder

• 2 teaspoons fine sea salt

PREPARATION

Stir together ingredients in a small bowl. Rub over chicken.
